On July 6, 2009, teenagers from ten Northern Ontario communities arrived at the first of two week-long Summer Science Camps hosted by the Northern Ontario School of Remedy (NOSM), held at the School’s West Campus in Rail at Bay and NOSM’s East Campus in Sudbury.  The Summer Realm Camps, attended by 45 students in total, are jointly hosted by NOSM’s Autochthon and Francophone Affairs Units, with relief from the School's medical and research students, as definitely as various physicians and health-care providers.  Camp activities - which include team-building exercises, a digital engagement book project, introductions to microbiology and CSI (Crime Episode Investigation), a look at the cardiovascular system, wilderness first aid, tours of NOSM’s scrutiny laboratories, and an opening to conversation individual health-care professionals - are intended to cause Northern Ontario loaded school students a glimpse into the universe of science and remedy and uplift them to regard pursuing a profession in the medical field.   The camps are suited credible due to the unstinting hold up under of the Ministry of Inspection and Modernization (Youth System and Technology Outreach Program) and FedNor (Youth Vigour Dash Awareness Program).  <<>>

On Thursday, July 2, 2009, 47 new residents began their training in NOSM's postgraduate programs including 39 in Menage Medicine, three in Broad Surgery, two in Community Medicine, and three in Pediatrics. An additional 11 commenced training in Northern programs administered by NOSM through the University of Ottawa and McMaster University in Anesthesiology, Orthopedic Surgery, Psychiatry, Internal Nostrum and Obstetrics & Gynecology.
